DIESEL DUST: Just Another Day (2024)
Following their wonderful double collector vinyl “Just before” released in 2021, the southern « gones » (the name for the kids from the French town Lyon, Editor's Note) Diesel Dust will enchant many ears with their new opus of eleven tracks “Just Another Day” on the Brennus Music label and their cocktail of bluesy southern rock with a few punchy country-rock touches where very incisive guitar solos fuse, sometimes very lyrical in their implementation by the fingering of singer-songwriter guitarist Raph Porcherot and David Benon. Let's not forget Max on lead vocals or Nico's harmonica which gives the group some nice relief. Over the course of their albums they have forged their own style, as for the title “Black Hills” which opens the fire in a beautiful way with an airy side, a style that we find embellished with acoustic intros on certain mid tempo tracks, like “We Will Never Die”, "My Father's Gone", the album title “Just Another Day”. Hard-hitting, more punchy southern rock that bounces along nicely is highlighted on two tracks, “Dixie Highway” and the very good “Between Love and Hate,” and all in all makes this album a very effective little gem.
